Responsibilities

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach. It is the only cancer center in Missouri and within a 240-mile radius of St. Louis to hold the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Parent institutions Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine also are nationally recognized, with U.S.News & World Report consistently ranking the hospital and medical school among the nation's elite.

Qualifications

Role Purpose

Oversees the development of an efficient and effective organization of professional and support staff to meet the personnel resource needs for all locations. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of clinical operations using new and established clinical practice and service standards, and recommends required changes. Implements approved changes. Formulates, recommends, implements and evaluates policies and procedures required to optimize the infusion care activities. Develops all processes and procedures and staffing models with the highest priority for patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Participates in a multidisciplinary approach to design and coordinate all clinical plans, both current and future, to provide quality medical services and clinical research support in an efficient, effective and safe manner. Designs and implements processes to accommodate patients with urgent medical needs on a same-day basis and patients with routine medical needs on a scheduled basis.
  • Provides administrative supervision for Nursing and APP managers for all locations in regards to nursing function in infusion services.
  • Tracks and provides leadership with key operating, performance, budgetary and forecasting metrics in regard to infusion operations.
  • Oversees and encourages continuous process improvement, including the development of innovative and synergistic opportunities to enhance patient and staff safety, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of infusion operations using new and established practice and service standards, and recommends required changes. Implements approved changes.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

  • 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience

  • 2-5 years

Licenses & Certifications

  • RN
