Overview

• 4900 is a 28 bed post op surgery unit, which receives minimally invasive and bariatric surgery patients.
• There are plans to potentially increase the number of beds in this department in the next year or so, but that will be determined at a later date.
• The unit is a very stable unit with approx 6 travelers currently. Hiring new nurses to further stabilize the team will be a top priority for the new manager.
• Their patient experience scores, quality metrics, and employee engagement scores are some of the best within surgery/trauma.
• The new manager should be someone who is a team player and willing to think outside of the box regarding staffing and bed expansion.

4900 General Surgery cares for a wide variety of patients including Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric, Plastic Reconstruction, Endocrine-oncology, Orthopedics and Opthalmology. We are recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence. The various surgical services that comprise our patient population make 4900 a dynamic floor on which to build your nursing skillset.

Role Purpose

Responsible for the operational and clinical management of a designated patient care unit(s) on a 24 hour basis. Oversees a span of control and financial responsibility of > 72 FTE's supervised > $2.5 million in total expenses OR > 40 FTE's supervised > $5 million in total expenses.
