The Alvin J. Employees in Oncology Services work side by side with Washington University medical oncologists providing treatment and coordination care for patients with a variety of cancers. Employees provide immediate access for patients experiencing physical and/or emotional distress due to the cancer diagnosis and assistance navigating the complex treatment plans.
Staff in the Radiation Oncology Department work with leading experts from the Siteman Cancer Center, the first and only National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center in the St. Louis region. With a staff of approximately 250 medical and allied health professionals, the department of Radiation Oncology offers its hospital staff the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge environment focused solely on delivering exceptional and uncompromising patient care.
Role Purpose
Provides and coordinates patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Serves as a resource and liaison between the physician and hospital while supporting the clinical operations with the delivery of safe patient care and building an effective work unit.
