Black Dog Firewood has an opening for a Relief/Part-time Delivery Driver with a clean driving record and has had their CDL for 3 years. Our drivers make state-wide firewood deliveries to our commercial and residential customers. Outstanding customer service and safe driving are our top priorities. Our drivers are flexible, think on their feet, and communicate well with our hub. Most drivers receive weekly bonuses for efficient operations, team work, and high quality customer service.

THIS IS A PART-TIME RELIEF DRIVER POSITION.

MUSTS: Have a clean driving record. SPEAK/READ ENGLISH FLUENTLY. Have relaiable transportation. Able to be flexible.

Job Highlights

• Typically a 2 -3 day work week, 12 hours a day
• Must have the flexibility to work an occasional full-time week to cover vacations and extremly high delivery weeks
• Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday
• Early Start Times (1-5 am start times) to avoid traffic (Must be able to Wake UP & Function Safely at this hour)
• Pay for Performance increases
• Eligibility for weekly Bonus program after training period
• Company benefits after 60 days on the job

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment daily.
• Report all maintenance or repair needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Review routes and make suggestions for route optimization / safety.
• Deliver firewood & charcoal pallets to customers by safely using electric pallet jacks.
• Collect proof of delivery or payments.
• Complete logs and reports.

Skills

• Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
• Valid Class A or B driver’s license
• Ability to operate box trucks in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
• Electric pallet jack experience is helpful
• Good driving record with NO TRAFFIC VIOLIATIONS is a MUST
• High school degree or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English competently. Spanish as a secondary language is a plus.
