BLACK SWAN DISTRIBUTION CORP is Hiring an Operation manager Near Pompano Beach, FL

The Lean Operations Manager

will lead the development and deployment of a plant-wide Lean culture, including problem-solving, Lean process development, training, visual management, and policy deployment.

In partnership with leadership, you will establish a customer-based improvement strategy to promote safety, lead time reduction, quality improvement, and cost reductions in line with business / functional goals.

You will manage and coach a group of talented salaried and hourly employees in this position.

You are expected to help your team succeed by giving them the resources they need, while also driving increases in productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving.

In order to guarantee that customer purchases are delivered at the appropriate time and location, you will also be crucial in upholding our customers' expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Build and carry out productivity goals by conducting forecast reviews, identifying productivity requirements, and collaborating with other leaders to load balance.
  • Support, mentor, and inspire your salary and hourly workers.
  • Take initiative in leading large-scope projects.
  • Work with all support teams to build plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery commitments.
  • Establish site Lean standards for visual management, 5S, and daily management.
  • Promote Kaizen that affects product flow, production to TAKT, and inventory turns.
  • Champion Lean transformations to improve process quality and create capacity by reducing cycle time, inventory, and waste.
  • Organize Kaizen events and value stream mapping to discover process wastes and create and implement remedial measures.
  • Facilitate functional managers in generating process flow by adopting visual management tools and methodologies to pull product through the work cells.
  • Create standardized work instructions, layouts, and process flow diagrams.
  • Use Six Sigma tools to increase process efficiency and eliminate waste.
  • Guide teams through the steps of define, analyze, root cause, and countermeasure using the PSR format.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial.

Lean Culture

  • Assist team members in using the Lean tools and principles by facilitating training and coaching sessions.
  • Inform, coach, and mentor employees about the principles of and applications for Lean.
  • Identify possibilities for process improvement projects and take advantage of them to help plants and product groupings support customers (s).

Job Elements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Stand / walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  • Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud.
  • Work in an environment that is subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three or more years of experience in Lean management.
  • Three or more years of direct management experience, including monitoring staff performance.

Desired Experience and Characteristics

  • Expertise in Lean process, Kaizen, and / or Six Sigma for defining, directing, and implementing process improvements.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and customer service abilities.
  • Proven track record of surpassing department performance objectives.
  • A degree in engineering, operations, supply chain / logistics, or a similar discipline at the bachelor's or master's level.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to manage teams and sway others.
  • The capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skillful problem-identifying and solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or a comparable quality system.
  • Knowledge of TPM and Kaizen methods
  • Knowledge of Lean tools, including Poka-yoke, setup reduction, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Cycle-Time Improvement experience.
  • Strong facilitation of organization and waste elimination.
  • Experience working in or implementing Toyota Production System, or a comparable Continuous Improvement methodology.
  • Capacity to inspire teams and lead change at all levels of the organization.
  • Capacity to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion or obsession for pursuing improvement.
  • Humble : courteous, attentive, nimble, willing to learn.
  • Transparent : shares important information, speaks candidly, contributes constructively.
  • Six Sigma Green / Black belt qualification or comparable quality certification.
