SUMMARY: The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate cash posting on incoming deposits.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
Responsible for promoting culture of safety
Apply incoming wire, ACH, and check payments to customer accounts.
Distribute daily cash receipts report to department management.
Create intercompany journal entries when appropriate.
Develop and sustain working relationship with bank contacts.
Maintain daily cash application spreadsheet to ensure deposits balance.
Advise A/R Specialists on customer short payments, overpayments, unapplied payments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Perform all work in accordance to ISO processes and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
Experience in Prophet 21 highly desirable
Ability to work independently
Proficient time management and organizational skills
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
2-4 years cash application, accounts receivable, or general accounting experience preferred
BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration Preferred; High School Diploma required

Employee is regularly required to speak and understand English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.
