Blackhawk Technical College is Hiring a LTE Transfer Coordinator Near Janesville, WI

Overview:

The Transfer Coordinator develops and maintains articulation and transfer credit agreements with college and university partners and oversees the University Center. The Transfer Coordinator guides BTC students through their academic journey from enrollment to transfer by providing comprehensive academic advising, career exploration and transfer experience support. The Transfer Coordinator works under the supervision of the Executive Director Student Services and in direct collaboration with the Dean General Education and Transfer Pathways. This position also has a close working relationship with the Advising and Recruitment teams and works closely with academic deans, chairs and faculty.

This position will be open until filled, with a first review date of July 15, 2024. After this date, the recruitment may close without further notice. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

Articulation and Transfer Credit Coordination

  1. Coordinate program and course articulation between Blackhawk and four-year colleges and universities. Manage partnership Teams sites.
  2. Coordinate statewide articulation agreements and ensure compliance with WTCS articulation policies.
  3. Establish and maintain transfer partnerships to provide a seamless transfer student experience.
  4. Support faculty in the development of new pathway articulations that align with BTC programs.
  5. Develop data-driven strategies for identification of curriculum development that supports and enhances the BTC student experience and transfer opportunities.
  6. Maintain content that is available on the BTC student-facing transfer websites.
  7. Coordinate with Marketing and Communications on publications prepared for transfer students and/or advisors such as the catalog, program plans and transfer handbook.
  8. Coordinate with the Registration and Records Office and Academic Affairs on Transferology course equivalencies.
  9. Facilitate faculty-to-faculty collaboration through articulation workshops, including campus visits.
  10. Define, document and evaluate policies and procedures for co-enrollment opportunities and evaluate the co-enrollment student experience.
  11. Work with the Dean General Education and Transfer Pathways to support the first year experience course required of all University Transfer Program (AA/AS) students.

Academic Advising and Student Retention

  1. Serve as an advocate/advisor for students who transfer from BTC to another institution.
  2. Assist students in clarifying their educational goals, selecting courses and developing Master Academic Plans (MAPs).
  3. Deliver presentations and workshops to facilitate individual and group student sessions, promoting academic success and transfer readiness.
  4. Provide timely, appropriate and accurate information regarding a program of study that aligns with career goals, program qualifications, course content, course selection, prerequisites, recommended course load, credit for prior learning process, admissions, retention and graduation.
  5. Monitor student progress, develop student success intervention strategies, and provide timely support throughout a students academic career.
  6. Develop co-curricular programs that support student development and retention, fostering an inclusive and engaged campus community.

University Center Oversight

  1. Coordinate the application process and agreements for the maintenance and assessment of University Center partnerships.
  2. Develop and facilitate student experience work groups for Tier 1 University Center partners.
  3. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to develop University Center publications and facilitate transfer-related events.

Campus and Statewide Responsibilities

  1. Represent BTC at statewide meetings for WTCS Transfer Coordinators, including statewide meetings pertaining to articulation, transfer and Transferology demand.
  2. Collaborate with Institutional Research and Effectiveness on data collection and analysis. Provide program-specific reports and grant reporting data as requested.
  3. Support BTC initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion and an appreciation for multiculturalism.
  4. Serve on College committees; attend division and department meetings.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelors degree in counseling, education, student services or a related field.
  2. Experience in Student Services preferably to include advising or counseling experience.
  3. Experience interpreting and utilizing articulation agreements and transfer requirements for community college students is preferred.

Blackhawk Technical College does not offer H-1B or other work authorization visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term.
