**About this role**

**Technology & Operations**

Technology & Operations (T&O) is the backbone for both the client lifecycle and the investment lifecycle. The groups Follow the Sun Model ensures that the firms operations are consistent and efficient across all investment products, client channels and regions, helping to deliver a superior client experience and drive scalability. T&O is driven by a global network of Operating Centers of Excellence, which centralizes knowledge and equips support teams with the data and timely information needed to innovate and deliver on behalf of internal partners and clients.

Within T&O, you will be a part of BlackRocks first line of defense to help mitigate risk and potential issues. Our team is responsible to help identify risks, coordinate remediation efforts and improve BlackRocks control environment across T&O, primarily in the Business Operations space.

**As a Risk and Controls Vice President, you will:**

Coordinate primarily with Business Operations stakeholders and risk champions within T&O to proactively identify and mitigate open risks for pre-audit readiness.

Support T&O stakeholders throughout the audit lifecycle and coordinate with Internal Audit to ensure audit results are accurate and balanced.

Independently provide advisory services and guidance to control owners based on audit best practices, framework guidance, emerging risks and thematic reviews

Perform assessments on audit issue themes and communicate results to interested parties.

Coordinate remediation efforts for risk and control issues and support issue closure or risk acceptances, as needed.

Collect and evaluate appropriateness of evidence for issue closure.

Work with accountable owners to collect and evaluate appropriateness of evidence.

Maintain internal standards, policies and program documents for our function.

**What You'll Need:**

Proven experience (generally 4-8 years) working in a Risk Management, Internal Audit, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of business operations and relevant controls, with preferred experience in the financial services industry and a general understanding of technology controls.

An ability to work independently to identify gaps and advise stakeholders on audit, risk and control expectations.

Strong documentation and process-oriented background with leading and managing complex projects.

An ability to effectively influence others to account for the plans and collaborative behaviors for results.

An ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative, and measurable manner.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify emerging risks, summarize issues and explain risk trends.

Proactive self-starter, ability to learn quickly and to take initiative. Passion and energy combined with a constant desire to challenge the status quo and to drive operational excellence.

Bachelors or masters degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

Professional Certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRMA are preferred.
