Blackstone Global, a leading Construction Defect, Litigation, and Construction firm based in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a talented Structural Engineer. This role involves performing civil/structural engineering calculations, creating detailed plans, designs, and layouts, and developing project specifications. Additionally, the Structural Engineer will contribute to project proposals and cost estimates, while providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the Blackstone team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles and the ability to manage and perform projects in a fast-paced environment. Job Description:
The Structural Engineer position requires thorough knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques. Responsibilities include planning and conducting independent work, evaluating and applying engineering techniques, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and practices. The engineer will devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
Typical Duties:
· Prepare and/or modify civil/structural engineering calculations.
· Create civil/structural engineering plans, designs, and layouts.
· Develop project specifications.
· Contribute to project proposals.
· Develop project cost estimates.
Essential Functions:
· Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the Blackstone team.
· Advise senior management on developing structural technologies and upcoming development opportunities.
· Perform structural design and analysis using governing codes, standards, and engineering formulas.
· Layout and detail portions of projects using schematic layouts.
· Produce drawings and sketches for Designers/Drafters.
· Research design options and document findings.
· Review drawings.
· Assume the lead engineer’s role for all projects.
· Develop probable construction cost estimates.
· Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, and electrical.
· Handle routine contract administration.
· Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare documents.
· Attend and participate in client meetings.
· Perform field activities such as observing and recording existing conditions, and verifying measurements.
· Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
· Manage and perform projects in a fast-paced environment.
