Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe
- Well-developed critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Understand how to prioritize work based on deadlines
- Must be a team player
- Knowledge of how to file complaints, prepare summons and serve complaints
- Working knowledge of discovery process and answering discovery
- Knowledge of rules of civil procedure and how they work
Responsibilities:
- Assuring deadlines are met and maintaining attorneys’ calendars
- Assist with drafting discovery responses and document production
- Work independently with clients to gather necessary documentation (medical records, bills, lost wages information, photographs, etc.)
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Case Intake
- Requesting medical records/bills
- Managing case files, including gaining a comprehensive knowledge of the documents of the case so that urgent requests for documents can be dealt with efficiently
- Preparing demand packages
- Providing factual overviews/analysis and status reports on cases as requested by the attorneys.
- Court filings
- Schedule depositions, court reporters and order transcripts
- No billable requirement

Job Description:
Immediate need for a full time paralegal at small litigation law firm in downtown Raleigh. This position will have a broad involvement with cases at all stages. The candidate must have a minimum 4-6 years of litigation experience. The candidate must have an understanding of a paralegal’s role in the life cycle of a case, be proactive, and be able to anticipate the needs of the attorneys throughout a case’s life cycle. The responsibilities involved in this position require someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and dependable. The candidate must have a pleasant demeanor and be a team player. This is an excellent and supportive small firm culture. All resumes are held in strict confidence. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and have a valid driver’s license.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
