Shift Leader

General Description:

A 30-40 hour position performing a wide variety of tasks to ensure smooth operation of the ice cream shop while serving customers and providing staff leadership.

Shift Leader Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the work of 2-8 part-time staff
• Working the cash register, making cones, serving customers
• Ensuring all online orders are accounted for and prepared
• Updating website and online store with availability of products and flavors
• Ensuring all safety protocols are followed including food safety guidelines
• Perform duties as person-in-charge during health inspections or emergency situations
• Ensuring best possible customer experience and solving any problems or complaints
• Solving any staff complaints or questions, or directing staff to the appropriate higher-up
• Ensuring that someone over the age of 18 is in the store at all times during operating hours
• May fill in for store manager when needed with inventory and ordering
• Baking and/or cutting cookies, brownies and blondies
• Making whipped cream and cone mix
• Serve customers/scoop ice cream
• Delegate responsibilities as needed to staff
• Individually opening the shop as scheduled by completing specific tasks
• Counting/balancing the cash drawer
• Restocking ice cream freezers
• Cataloging online orders
• Ensuring closing procedures are completed and cleanliness is achieved
• LOCKING ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS

Qualifications:

• Be very adept at multitasking
• Ability to follow a written recipe
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment
• Familiarity with safe food handling procedures
• Previous food preparation experience desired
• Familiarity with basic computer skills
• Good communication skills with people of all ages
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be available nights and weekends
• Enjoy working in a fast pace environment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to be on your feet ~8 hrs/day
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
