Overview of BLOC We are an inner city ministry that lives and works in the neighborhoods we serve. Our mission exists to build relationships with our neighbors and share hope in brokenness. We target neighborhoods that are underserved. We have a staff size of about 45 where we have after school programs, sports performance center, houses for women in sex trafficking, men and women transitional homes, two coffee shops, screen printing, and other forms of ministry to love our neighbors. 

Horses on the Hill (HOTH) is a trauma-informed wellness center that provides Nature-Based and Equine Assisted Learning for experiential learning, growth, and healing. We exist to serve economically disadvantaged youth and their families as well as individuals in recovery. We strive to create a relaxed and non-judgemental environment for our clientele to feel safe and meet their goals. Community Experiential Specialist will provide specialized therapeutic behavioral support services in a safe non judgmental environment predominantly in a nature-based setting and with equine partners. At HOTH you will be an active part of a creative, compassionate, passionate, and dedicated team serving the west side of Cincinnati.

Primary Requirements and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to: 

• An active member of the HOTH team providing individual as well as group services to model, teach, and practice skills with clientele to meet goals set forth by credentialed providers.
• Provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for all Horses on the Hill clientele. 
• Plan, implement, as well as aid in other team sessions if needed to provide experiential learning through modeling.
• In active communication with various agencies, an active member of treatment teams and advocate for clientele.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPPA Laws and Regulations. 

• Maintain a professional and positive attitude. 

• Maintain qualifications by attending training overseen by Natural Freedom Wellness Center. Willing to travel to our supervision site for required training.
• Attend supervisions and team meetings required by BLOC/HOTH and their supervising branch. 

• Willing to aid in duties as needed for equine members care and well being.
• Strong attention to detail. 
• Ability to switch attention back and forth from one activity to another 
• Willingness to Support Raise for the ministry or for a portion of personal salary. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

• Must be an actively-growing, faith-professing follower of Christ.

• Support Raise 
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of Behavioral Health Experience 
• Minimum of 3 years equine experience 
• Must be able to pass BCI/CBI background check 
• Proof of COVID -19 vaccine (Per federal Mandate and to be capable of billing Medicaid for services) 
• Must hold or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Must be able to work in a team and independently. 
• Must be self-aware, teachable, and work well in a highly relational team environment
• Must be Computer Savvy. 
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Individuals who have worked with various populations, have trauma-informed training, or have a recreation therapy background are a plus.
