Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and monitor procedures to ensure compliance with funding requirements for participants' benefits and entitlements (e.g., Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare).
Maintain eligibility records, track expiration dates, and ensure timely re-determinations and recertifications of benefits.
Resolve entitlement issues, such as Medicaid billing or Social Security discrepancies, and escalate unresolved issues to the Director of Finance.
Provide benefit advisement and counseling to participants and collaborate with clinical staff on entitlements outreach.
Regularly update the Finance Department on participants' benefit income status and compliance with Personal Allowance regulations.
Review and monitor participants' bank balances, pharmacy, nursing home, and hospital invoices for compliance.
Handle appeals, legal actions, and administrative hearings for denied entitlements.
Act as a liaison between the agency and government agencies, staying informed of regulatory updates and public policy changes.
Attend training sessions and demonstrate compliance with Medicaid, Social Security, OPWDD, and agency policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.
Serve as the representative for Medicaid and Social Security interactions.
Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism when working with these agencies.
Act on behalf of the organization to ensure compliance and effective communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in human services, or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in the field of I/DD
Drivers License required
Must have OPWWD regulations knowledge
Knowledge of Medicaid & Social Security regulations is required
Work Environment:
This position will be onsite at our Bay 44th location.
Travel is required for this position to residents, offices and government agencies.
