Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Block Institute - Brooklyn, NY Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $24.72 - $30.21 Salary/year Description The Quality Assurance/ Compliance Specialist, under the supervision of the Director of Quality Assurance/Compliance, will conduct internal audits of Block Institute programs. These audits will assist the Programs in ensuring adherence to applicable federal and state laws as well as agency policy and procedures. Audits also identify potential risk areas that require corrective actions. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance/Compliance Specialist will assist in developing an auditing schedule for Block Institute programs each year and distribute to appropriate staff.
Arrange an Entrance Conference prior to the audit to communicate to Program management the expectations of the audit and elicit feedback for potential risk areas identified by recent agency driven quality assurance audit conducted by program management and external audit reviews.
Work closely with Program management to arrange the availability of the randomly selected records, supporting documentation and staff necessary for scheduled audit.
Utilize a standardized tool to review each chart and supporting documentation to evaluate adherence to all applicable state and federal regulatory standards.
Ensure that the review of charts is assessed with Agency mandated Best Practices and Agency policies and procedures.
Upon completion of the internal audit, develop a Statement of Deficiencies according to audit findings.
Conduct an Exit Conference with Program management to review overall findings of the internal audit.
Forward the Statement of Deficiencies to the Director of Quality Assurance and Director of the Program that was audited, along with a time frame for submission of the Plan of Corrective Action, and that the timeframe is followed.
Provide technical assistance to Program management as necessary.
May conduct follow up audits to ensure that the Plan of Correction is effective and operational.
Maintain an organized system of program audits.
Assist in ensuring compliance to all Federal, State regulation as well as all Justice Center regulations.
Qualifications BS preferred or some college credits; experience within an OPWDD setting required
