Job Description
The SFS security team directs and manages the Bank's overall cybersecurity and information security program. We collaborate with teams across the Bank and Block in pursuit of industry-leading controls to manage and mitigate security and technology risks.
We seek a driven and innovative Data Protection Manager to support our program as the Bank grows and takes on additional data management and governance challenges, and regulatory compliance obligations.
You will advance our team's mission as you develop a deep understanding of our products, technologies, and data protection controls and work with cross-functional teams to measure and evolve data management practices.
You will:

• Manage a data protection program to complement SFS's cybersecurity and information security programs. The program will include deliverables such as control description documentation, a data management maturity assessment and improvement roadmap, a data catalog and dictionary, and data risk assessments.
• Conduct cross-functional data security and compliance evaluation projects, including planning, prioritization, execution, dependency management, and project-related risk analysis.
• Participate in technical design discussions, evaluate data security properties of systems and services, drive risk decisions, and influence technical architecture to support our regulatory obligations, business goals, and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-organizational Block stakeholders on data governance and management initiatives.
• Identify and solve data protection challenges that span multiple teams or areas of ownership.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to find creative ways to mitigate data security risks.
• Support SFS and Block teams by sharing your experience and expertise in pursuit of an industry-leading data protection program.

Qualifications
You have:

• 5 years of experience with privacy- and/or data security in the financial services industry.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CIPP, CISSP).
• Experience with privacy- and security-related program management or GRC program management
• Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) safeguard rule, the FFIEC IT Handbooks, and other financial services regulations.
• Familiarity with a broad range of security controls including, but not limited to, asset management, encryption, vulnerability management, and AWS native security solutions.

Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $148,700 - USD $223,100
Zone B: USD $141,300 - USD $211,900
Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $200,800
Zone D: USD $126,400 - USD $189,600
