We are looking for a cook to join our team and prepare delicious snacks and meals for our children. Chef responsibilities include sourcing recipes, setting up menus and preparing snacks and lunch for children. You should be familiar with state health and safety regulations and have prior cooking experience preparing snack and meals for large groups such as daycare, school, catering, etc.

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scale
• Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
• Cook food in a timely manner
• Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date item
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Skills

• Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
• Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
• Excellent time management abilities
• Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
