PRACTICE OVERVIEW

Bloom Family Eye Surgeons, through its owned and affiliated practices, is a leading provider of comprehensive medical eye clinics in Ohio. As a physician-led and physician-owned company, we offer complete medical eye examinations by specialists in the field of ophthalmology, including diagnosis, management and treatment of eye diseases.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager will report directly to the Practice Director delivering the highest standards of patient care and ensuring appropriate staffing and quality of care. The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations within technical services for the assigned location and ensure technical staff allocation for the physicians.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for managing the floor and workflow of the office.

· Responsible for maintaining patient care as our practice’s priority.

· Responsible for the opening and closing of the office building.

· Managing employee schedules and holding employees accountable for attendance.

· Manages employee requests for PTO and ensures there is adequate coverage.

· Services as the liaison between physicians, practice director and staff.

· Conducts team meetings to ensure continuing education and effective communication.

· Responsible for identifying areas of opportunities within technical service areas and monitoring stamps, schedules and benchmarks.

· Understanding of ancillary testing, technical skills, EHR documentation.

· Responsible for overseeing patient or physician complaints and handles requests assistance from administration.

· Encourages and motivates staff members on opportunities to improve skills and knowledge.

· Works directly with the Practice Director on hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, orientation, performance evaluations and setting priorities.

· Understanding of electronic medical records and the ability to train staff on updates, requirements and operational efficiencies.

· Conducts inventory on equipment and surgical supplies utilized within clinic operations.

· Works with the Practice Director to reduce costs, ensure patient safety and trouble shoot equipment failures and repairs to ensure efficiency throughout the locations.

· Collaborates with management to achieve goals and practice initiatives.

· Ensures the proper coding technique is utilized and mapping the diagnosis to the procedure.

· Monitors and audits coding by technical staff to ensure accuracy and prevent revenue delays.

· Ability to solve problems effectively and maintain awareness of all activities of the business.

· Excellent understanding of federal healthcare compliance and standards required by Federal, state and local accreditation.

· Excellent communication and the ability to drive change through an organized process, bringing people along to ensure results are achieved.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in Ophthalmology preferred or healthcare related.

· Excellent leadership skills and hands-on visibility within staff management and interaction.

· COA, COT or COMT certifications including IJCAHPO Core Certification.

· Demonstrate knowledge of injections including Biosimilars, cataract, E/M and lasers.

· Demonstrate excellent management skills, program implementation, and quality improvement.

· Proficient in Excel, NextGen, Cerner, Word and Power Point.
