How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

This position is responsible forsupporting the retention and growth strategies of Group Medicare businessthrough service and administration excellence. The position achieves results by developing deep and broad relationships with clients and acting as a customer advocate within Blue Cross driving operational effectiveness and execution of the account strategic business plan. In partnership with theGroup Medicare Account Executive,account managers,and other Client Advisors. This position supports and is involved withGroup Medicare the client renewal process andnew client implementations.

A Day in the Life:

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with the client to ensure loyalty and retention.

  • Achieve financial success of account performance by tracking margin reports, billing statement, and enrollment. Help identify areas of opportunity, and work collaboratively with BCBS departments to ensure operations and underwriting effective financial reporting. 

  • Support RFP/RFQ process for clients.

  • Help operational success by identifying areas of concern and managing cross-functional recovery and prevention initiatives in areas such as claims performance, IT implementations, care management, and customer service. They are then expected to leverage those successes across the market segment with their colleagues. 

  • Implement new clients as assigned; new products as sold; new member populations as acquired; and legislative requirements as delivered.

  • Oversee coordination with membership, benefit set-up, contracts, service, claims, auditing, health management, provider management, pharmacy manager, IT, outside vendors, etc. 

  • Manage specific projects on behalf of customers including researching, developing and negotiating solutionstosupport account management. Influence client to drive efficiency and profitability.Collaborate with the Marketing Teamto ensure accuracy of legal documents such as Summary Plan Description, benefit design agreement and exhibits. 

  • Drive effective member communication strategy and delivery, including client collateral mailings, welcome packets, resource guides, specific member mailings, open enrollment meetings, health fairs, etc. Co-manage and drive for growth opportunities including coordination and completion of RFPs, completion of geo access, and disruption analysis. Communicate network changes and provide analysis of alternative network providers. 

  • Group Medicare segmentin internal work groups. Drive for resolution and advance progress for key operational performance. 

  • Represent the voice of the customer in communicating client expectations to internal work groups. Makes on-site presentations to existing clients to educate and inform. 

  • Supports the annual renewal process to ensure account management is submitting renewals by deadline and manages the required renewal forms for product lines as needed.

  • Manages the orders of marketing materials for all clients and account support during the annual renewal process.

  • Regularly and meaningfully interact in market as defined by division or leader.

  • Maintain Salesforce records as defined by division, department, or leader.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • 3 years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

  • Possess or acquire MN Resident Producer License in the lines of Life & Health/ Accident
    within 60 days of employment. Maintain valid license in good standing.

  • Excellent analytical, problem identification and resolution skills as this pertain to benefit plans.

  • Financial capabilities including ability to read, understand, interpret, and present complex renewal and underwriting formulas.

  • Knowledge of ancillary programs available in the industry and Blue Cross (life, ADandD, STD, LTD, CDHP products, Population Health and Care Management programs, Medicare D, Group Medicare, voluntary benefits, and disability management programs).

  • Highly organized with attention to details and a track record of delivering a high level of client service in a timely manner while maximizing account profitability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to pay close attention to detail.

  • Ability to present to and speak in front of customers and members to educate, persuade, and sell complex products.

  • Ability to achieve results in a highly complex environment with tight deadlines and multiple shifting priorities.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute healthy and positive dynamics to the work team and the ability to train and mentor team members.

  • Able to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Demonstrated PC skills; including experience in Microsoft, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Travel as required.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Knowledge of Blue Cross and affiliates products.
