As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support the design, development, and fabrication of space launch vehicles and components to support human spaceflight programs. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively assess Production Control, Visual Factory and Production Coordinator staff in emerging work centers. Ensure staffing is available, trained, and ready to support those work centers.
  • Ensure direct reports are highly capable in all Production core responsibilities by training new employees on technical Production Control procedures and providing training to all staff on emerging capabilities from Blue Origin enterprise technologies.
  • Ensure direct reports adhere to internal guidelines on timecard entry, paid and unpaid leave events, semi-annual and annual performance assessments, and training requirements as directed.
  • Aggregate, assess, and report the detailed status of work in progress – sometimes to an executive audience.
  • Understand and guide Production staff on enterprise-wide production priorities. Ensure priorities are sequenced logically and communicated effectively across multiple production sites.
  • Works with Demand Planners to understand scope, deadlines, and Program requirements. Flows work to product-based PC staff and ensure adherence to scheduled completion.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program.
  • Implement and refine logistic strategies on production lines..
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with work center leads to ensure work orders are completed on time to schedule.
  • Support special projects, program and process changes, or other ad-hoc duties as directed by the Senior Manager or Director of Production Control.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision-making skills, and the ability to think outside the box
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • 5-7 years of manufacturing and/or supply chain experience
  • 5-7 years of experience planning and/or scheduling production work in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated results working with a cross-functional team
  • Manufacturing Lead, supplier management, and program management experience highly desired.
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired.
  • Excellent written /verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates understanding and can apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Desired
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion
  • Based upon job duties, may need to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and management and customer decisions

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
