Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As a Technical Project Manager on the Lunar Permanence Cross Program Integration team, you will be responsible for the integration of the Transporter across elements, defining receivables and deliverables for Transporter hardware with the SLD program, and leading integration forums. You will work to ensure progress on top issues, manage risks, track metrics, and elevate decisions to the SLD board. Your role will involve deep understanding of the Transporter architecture, finding gaps, leading trades and evaluating Transporter analyses and designs against requirements while collaborating with the program systems engineering organization to ensure integration into the full architecture and mission. You will work directly with Blue Origin SLD elements, our National Team Partners, and NASA.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Ensure Transporter is being integrated across elements (New Glenn, MK2, HDL)
  • Define Receivables/Deliverables for Transporter hardware with SLD program, including common prop components.
  • Define technical content for SOW for Transporter
  • Leads and Participates integration forums with other elements, as needed
  • Ensure progress is being made on all top issues, drive them to closure as soon as possible
  • Ensure Transporter top issues reflected on Program top issues
  • Ensure Transporter risks included in program risks and being managed
  • Create and elevate decisions to SLD board
  • Track metrics for work being completed
  • Manage Transporter Technical Performance Parameters (TPMs)
  • Work with RVC to manage SLD performance requirements, provide to Transporter in L3 Spec
  • Evaluate Transporter analyses against requirements
  • Evaluate Transporter designs against requirements
  • Work with RVC team to sign off on Transporter V&V approach
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or another technical field.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in integration of complex aerospace systems across multiple elements, demonstrating a thorough understanding of interdependent engineering and operational processes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects, including managing requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Strong strategic decision-making skills and a track record of creating and elevating critical decisions to program leaders, showcasing the ability to drive alignment and resolution at leadership levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and active participation in integration forums with diverse program elements, highlighting effective collaboration skills and a solution-oriented approach to resolve technical integration challenges.
  • Effective strategic oversight and resolution of critical issues and risks related to spacecraft systems, with a proactive focus on aligning architecture level concerns to broader program agenda.
  • Proven ability to define and manage Receivables/Deliverables (data, analyses, hardware) within a program, including a comprehensive grasp of technical specifications and common propellant components for spacecraft systems.
  • Proficient in tracking and analyzing comprehensive performance metrics, emphasizing a data-driven approach to ensure consistent progress and quality outcomes.
  • Understanding of the principles, concepts, and methods of systems engineering, such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning, and operations.
  • Full knowledge of space vehicles, reentry vehicles, propulsion systems, and spacecraft systems development.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience leading small multi-disciplinary development teams on fast-paced projects.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong background in developing technically rigorous Statements of Work (SOWs) specific to complex transporter hardware, showcasing expertise in articulating detailed project requirements and deliverables.
  • Experience with the Blue Origin SLD Program, either MK1 or MK2.
  • Experience working on a verification program for a complex spaceflight or aviation system.
  • Experience with requirements and V&V tracking tools, preferably using JAMA.
  • Experience operating on an Agile team.
  • Experience with NASA design and certifications standards for human spaceflight.
  • Experience with NASA certification of flight readiness process for a new system.
  • Experience with NASA lunar, deep space, or planetary missions.
  • Experience working on large complex programs with multiple partners.
Compensation range for on site CO applicants is $132,397-$185,355
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $143,990-$201,585
