Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare is Hiring a Human Resources Officer Near Roanoke, VA

We are seeking a Human Resources Officer to lead a 7 person, high performing team, providing strategic oversight in leading and delivering all Human Resource functional initiatives including recruitment, retention, employee relations, compensation, performance management, benefits, training and staff development, human resources operations, maintenance and implementation of the human resources information systems, and compliance across the agency.

What you will do in this role:

  • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure efficient human resources functions; this includes ensuring payroll systems appropriately pay employees and correctly record work in the most appropriate functions, funds, and/or cost centers.
  • Counsels with finance on compensation strategy.
  • Partners with the Executive Management Team (EMT) to teach, monitor, and measure compliance with laws and regulations as well as create and update Human Resources policies.
  • Serves as a senior advisor to management and staff with regard to Human Resources issues.
  • Provides guidance, direction, advice, and counsel in a supportive manner that helps leaders make sound decisions.
  • This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Psychology, or Public Administrations. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Six (6) years' experience in Human Resources Management, or six (6) years' of senior leadership experience. Public agency and healthcare experience is helpful.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred.
  • Safe Driving Record: Candidates must have a safe driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal violations in the last five years) and have or be eligible to obtain a VA Driver's License.
  • Background Check: Candidates will be required to submit to a fingerprint background check and drug screen.
