What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Aide position at Blue Sea Educational Consulting, Inc.?

We are not currently accepting applicants based in Queens, Bronx, or anywhere else outside of Long Island.
PARAPROFESSIONALS play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, assisting teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and fostering an inclusive learning environment. We are looking for professionals with experience working with children for this position, ideally those with educational challenges.
Job Responsibilities:
· Assist student in transitioning from one activity to the next
· Implement Behavior Intervention Plan if one is in place
· Assist and facilitate appropriate peer interactions
· Support classroom teacher in implementing IEP (Individualized Education Program)
· Provide positive reinforcement
Requirements: *CANIDATES MUST BE LOCATED IN NASSAU OR SUFFOLK COUNTY AND HAVE THEIR OWN VEHICLE*
· High School Diploma (Associates preferred)
· Experience working with children, ideally on the Autism Spectrum/Mental health challenges are required
· Ability to maneuver a wheelchair
· Ability to assist in toileting
· Available during and/or after school hours on school days
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
