Description

ROLE SUMMARY: A Wire Specialist performs a variety of wire transfer duties including but not limited to, call backs to verify wires per policy and procedures, verifies in person wire signatures, verifies that a wire agreement is on file, verifies funds are available, reviews the purpose of the wire according to customer, examines wires for fraudulent activity prior to submission. The Wire Specialist interacts with various bank personnel and customers providing excellent customer service. A Wire Specialist also supports Deposit Operations for the bank, performing a variety of duties as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Timely and accurately receives and verifies incoming and outgoing wire transfer requests.
• Timely completes call back to customers for wire approvals per policy and procedures.
• Timely and accurately verifies that funds are available prior to wire submission.
• Timely and accurately verifies the purpose of wire, reviews transaction history to make sure this is in line with current activity.
• Monitors and examines wire activity for fraudulent activity and timely reports fraudulent activity to management.
• Tracks and monitors wire volumes.
• Timely and accurately performs daily wire balancing.
• Provides friendly, professional, and accurate service and support to all customers.
• Maintains consistent compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory laws.
• Performs Deposit Operations Specialist responsibilities as needed and required for the department.
• Works with various bank personnel.
• Remains current on and adheres to all regulatory requirements and training.
• Works as a member of a team to accomplish the bank’s goals.
• Follows and adheres to all Bank policies and procedures including those contained in the Employee Handbook.
• Performs responsibilities during Bank hours by being physically present at the Bank an average of 40 hours each week based on banking needs.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of related wire bank experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of the banking industry, practices, and principles.
• Performance of all job duties and responsibilities by being physically present at the Bank an average of 40 hours each week based on business needs.
• Reliable transportation, a valid Driver License, and proof of vehicle insurance for travel to and from Bank branches and occasional seminars and/or training.
• Accuracy, efficiency, and thoroughness.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Delivery of superior customer service.
• Multi-tasking, consistency with meeting deadlines, demonstration of follow-through, and adherence to all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
• Attainment in a team environment to accomplish shared goals.
• Willingness to learn specialized financial software used in the banking industry.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Calculation of figures, numbers, and amounts typical of those in the banking industry.
• Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
