Founded by two female entrepreneurs who graduated from the Y Combinator 2018 batch, BlueCargo has successfully raised a Series A in 2022. We are at the beginning of an exciting growth phase, having already developed product-market fit, a working platform, and hundreds of daily active users.
If working to bring technology to the logistics industry sounds exciting, then we’d like to connect with you! We are looking for an experienced Back-end/Full Stack Engineer engineer with a startup mindset.
Our Current Tech
- Technical stack: Python / Django (Backend), Javascript (Frontend), AWS services (Lambda, RDS, S3), PostgreSQL (Database), CircleCI and other continuous integration tools
- Tech team: 12 engineers ( 5 people in the product team)
- Location: Los Angeles or remote
- Design and improve core algorithms to understand a shipping container’s journey, even in the face of conflicting information.
- Model the surprisingly intricate financial mechanics of ocean freight, defending against invalid charges for our users. Your code will have a large financial impact on the day-to-day of the industry.
- Scale/breakdown our Django application into its next evolution as a data platform.
- Become a near-expert in the freight industry over time.
- 3 year of Python development experience, ideally with Django. Typescript experience is valued as well.
- 2 years of database modeling experience for production use cases.
- Experience with a popular cloud provider (AWS preferred)
- High attention to detail, being able to execute at a high level with minimal supervision
- A relentless desire to grow technically and learn about the industry
