ResponsibilitiesAs the Tech Lead, you will be building the platform technology and infrastructure that drives BlueCargo’s product delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

Our Current Tech
- Technical stack: Python / Django (Backend), Javascript (Frontend), AWS services (Lambda, RDS, S3), PostgreSQL (Database), CircleCI and other continuous integration tools
- Tech team: 12 engineers ( 5 people in the product team)
- Location: Los Angeles or remote
ResponsibilitiesAs the Tech Lead, you will be building the platform technology and infrastructure that drives BlueCargo’s product delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other software engineers
- Translating product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect, robust code
- Researching new technologies and methodologies to improve our architecture, software components, user experience, and development process
- Leading and directing a team of 3-4 engineers and 1 data scientist, taking complete ownership of the features you work on, and ensuring successful product delivery
- Spending 50% of your time coding to develop and deploy software, especially focusing on web scraping and data pipeline tasks
- Several years of Python engineering experience, developing and deploying software in a short cycle using Agile methodologies
- Solid development skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, or Go
- Experienced in data sourcing technologies (external APIs, web-scraping, EDI files, etc.) and building data management platforms
- Proven leadership qualities and the ability to take complete ownership of the features you work on
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team, perform and oversee complex tasks, and prioritize multiple tasks based on overall strategic goals
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, building pipelines, and ETL processes
- Interest and/or experience in logistics and/or supply chain
- Start-up experience
- Experience working on cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
