Aerospace Laser Machine Operator

Payrate range : / hr. Plus shift differential. Salary will bedetermined on experience and after interview

2ndShift : (Monday Friday / 3pm 1 : 30am)

Uses established processes to set up program and operatevarious types of industrial grade machines to form cut bend sizeand / or machine aerospace quality components from Nickel Stainlessand Titanium alloys.

Functions andResponsibilities

• Performsetups and operations using Fiber and / or YAG CNC lasers onproduction hardware.
• May train others on partsetup and run.
• May repair rework or recutparts with guidance and oversight.
• Identifyand solve with direct oversight machine alignmentproblems.
• Troubleshoot minor program errorsindependently.
• Provide some input on tooldesign.
• Able to set up and run parts withlimited resource support within established timeframes on a minimumof two machine types.
• Applies basicunderstanding of G and M code.
• Meets CrossTraining Matrix criteria for machine and job understanding on aminimum of two machine types.
• Work underlimited oversight.

SkillsEducation and Required Experience

• Must be able to use mathematics relevant to laseroperator functions.
• Requires familiarity withmachine tools precision instruments and good manualdexterity.
• Able to do some job developmentwith guidance and oversight.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GD&T). Knows where to find this information at Exotic and asksfor help when necessary.

Working Conditions

• Use of protective clothing glasses and other equipment toprevent burns and eye injuries.
• PhysicalRequirements
• The laser operator performsphysical activities that require considerable use of arms and legsand frequent movement of the whole body such as climbing lifting upto 50 pounds balancing and handling of material.
