Bluegrass Ingredients, Inc is Hiring an INVENTORY ACCOUNTANT Near Glasgow, KY

Description:

The Inventory Accountant at Bluegrass Ingredients, Inc. will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring financial integrity through detailed accounting and analysis. This role requires a thorough understanding of inventory management, accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to optimize inventory practices. Proficiency in ERP’s and strong warehouse inventory accounting experience is essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities: Including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct regular inventory and cycle counts audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Based on Audits, perform corrective action to reconcile and create continuous improvement process to deter future variances.
  • Analyze inventory variances and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation reports and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Monitor and report on slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Support the annual physical inventory process.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and inventory management systems.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with and/or strong warehouse inventory accounting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office environment with occasional visits to production facilities
