Bluegrass Veterinary Services is Hiring an Associate Veterinarian Near Beaver, KY

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, perform surgeries, and provide preventive care to ensure the well-being of our patients. We are predominantly general practice for dogs and cats, but some large animal or exotic opportunities may be available.

We are located midway between Owensboro and Bowling Green KY, and are also within easy driving distance of Louisville, Lexington, and Nashville. This area offers both "town" and "country" living. Want to own your own land for a hobby farm or more? This area is perfect for you!

Duties:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health condition
- Diagnose illnesses and injuries and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Perform surgeries, including spaying/neutering, tumor removals, and orthopedic procedures
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures
- Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis
- Utilize diagnostic imaging techniques, such as X-rays and ultrasounds, to evaluate internal structures
- Provide emergency care to injured or critically ill animals
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure quality patient care

Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine principles and practices
- Experience in small animal general practice and surgery, or other specialized areas is a plus
- Proficiency in practice management software for record keeping and scheduling purposes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion while maintaining safety protocols
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for surgical procedures
- Familiarity with animal catheterization techniques
- Understanding of veterinary critical care procedures
