**BluePearl Pet Hospital in Fox Valley, WI is hiring a** **n** **expectational** **Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Department.**

A BluePearl Surgery Technician will be responsible for some post-operative client communication and must be able to work independently while contributing to a larger team goal. Prefer to have a minimum of two or more years of experience in a veterinary hospital.

**This is a full-time position with a 4 x 9-hour weekly schedule. A** **rotating on-call** **schedule is** **required** **once training has been completed.** **On-call hours include overnight and weekend**

**As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you will:**

Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.

Ensure the patient's well-being by monitoring vital signs, adjusting anesthesia levels as needed, and addressing any anesthetic complications promptly.

Performs physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

Understands normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal.

Monitor and assist in the recovery of patients after surgery.

Administer postoperative medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.

Provide support during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.

Able to set up intravenous fluids.

**Qualifications:**

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT).

State licensure as required.

Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
