About BlueRock: BlueRock is a Level 2 residential placement option for youth ages 12-17 located on a picturesque 30 acre campus in Bat Cave, NC. BlueRock is a niche program designed to offer support for youth who have completed programming at a higher level of care who require additional skill building prior to returning to the home or community based settings OR as a diversion placement option for youth who don’t quite meet the criteria for a higher level of care. We offer a relationship-based model rooted in the belief that trusting relationships drive change. BlueRock students engage in daily clinical and academic programming which is supported by experiential therapy activities. The program is located on a former summer camp with access to fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities. As a CARF accredited placement option, BlueRock offers 32 beds with an average length of stay of 90-180 days.

Campus is located 30 minutes from Columbus, Hendersonville and Asheville, and 45 minutes from Black Mountain, Rutherfordton and Old Fort. Meals are included for all staff who are on shift.

About the position: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep of the physical plant, grounds, buildings on campus. The unique job functions outlined are designed with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

• Performs daily maintenance walk through of all buildings to find and correct problems.
• Performs routine maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
• Maintains HVAC equipment, including room units, area systems, air handlers, and water heaters.
• Maintains kitchen equipment including coolers, freezers, range, vent/makeup air systems, water heaters, and dishwashing equipment.
• Maintains lighting, electrical, and water systems; in addition to maintaining laundry equipment.
• Maintains swimming pool
• Maintains campus landscaping and landscaping equipment
• Keeps maintenance area, vehicles and equipment clean and functional
• Assures cleanliness of all drainage systems.
• Assures proper use of safety equipment.
• Monitor and perform basic operation/maintenance of fire/alarm/security systems.
• Clean vents and light fixtures in all rooms as needed; clean vent hood in the kitchen as needed.
• Provides painting and repair of walls.
• Is on call and emergency call as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks is required.
• Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director or supervisor.
• May require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
• Is available as needed to assist Housekeeping staff.
• Assists in obtaining quotations for supplies and/or equipment applicable to work duties.
• Assists with purchase and stocking of maintenance supplies.
• Assists in maintaining the facility in appropriate condition for all inspections/reviews by licensing and regulatory bodies.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years experience in general repair and maintenance preferred.
• Clear driving record.
