Job DescriptionThe role of the Maintenance Scheduler is to improve workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access; improve equipment reliability while minimizing conversion costs through sound planning practices, which includes efficient utilization of labor, parts, materials, and outside vendor services. The Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities performed and is the liaison between Maintenance and other departments; maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis for reporting on the effectiveness of the maintenance planning and scheduling and its impact to the business.
The Maintenance Scheduler uses Maintenance Management software, supports the formalization of maintenances process and ensues data integrity into and out of the management software. The planners also support Maintenance department objectives including an increase in preventative activities, decrease in reactionary maintenance, adherence to a robust work order system. This position will maintain a focus on safety, performance improvements, cost reduction and standardized maintenance processes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Team Coordinators to ensure the operations areas receive prompt, efficient and quality service from the Maintenance Department.
  • Leads all area Shutdown Planning and Review meetings with the cooperation of all area Team Coordinators to coordinate all area activities to schedule contracted work and planned work orders during the scheduled shutdown effectively and efficiently.
  • Receive all work notifications/orders from the requesting associates, except for unplanned (breakdown) work. Unplanned work is requested of the on-shift maintenance team and is entered into SAP as a work order to be initiated on shift.
  • Review and assure work orders are properly filled out including clarity of work scope, priority, requested completion dates are realistic, practical lead-time provided, charge numbers and coding are complete and accurate, resources and hours required are clearly defined to complete the work, all parts have been identified and POs issued, and contacts the originator of the work order if more information is required. Reviews completed work orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Reviews value add of work requested; conducts appropriate evaluation of cost savings, expenses and gains input from Ops and Maintenance teams.
  • Responsible for working with vendors; establishes scope, cost, equipment availability and POs. Acts as the primary point of contact throughout the process and responsible for ensuring vendor compliance with company rules and regulations.
  • Analyzes maintenance PM completion, PM Compliance, Regulatory PM Compliance, Schedule Compliance, and overdue work orders to recommended corrective actions with the Team Coordinators and the Maintenance & Engineering Manager
  • Supports the Maintenance department with the implementation of systems to facilitate the preparation, planning, scheduling, coordination and execution of maintenance activities. Communicates and reports with the appropriate parties the planning and scheduling of these activities; Review schedules and manpower availability to determine if rescheduling is needed.
  • Maintains backlog of work orders in SAP awaiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date, including availability for completion in the event of unscheduled downtime.
  • Coordinates and implements strategic and regular maintenance schedules.
  • Generates and administers PMs, maintains the master preventative calendar in SAP
  • Ensures training and coordination of safety procedures in all maintenance tasks
  • Coordinates work with subcontractors
  • Responsible for ad hoc projects and assignments.
QualificationsMinimum education and experience requirements:
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing processes and industrial environment
  • Demonstrated work experience with project management
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • MS Office – Excel, Project, Word and Outlook
  • 5 years of relevant maintenance planning experience – preferably in SAP
Preferred:
  • Associates degree
  • Knowledge of maintenance management system
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience
  • Certified in Maintenance reliability

Pay Range: $75,585 - $113,377 annually
