Job Description

The Human Resources department consults with North American business leaders and supports their employees by providing a full range of HR services including planning, recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, HR systems, and payroll.

As the Retirement & Benefits Analyst you will manage the BlueScope North America Retirement and benefit programs in partnership with the Total Rewards team. You will analyze data and use results to consult with management and Human Resources teams to assist the company in maintaining competitive retirement and benefit program to attract and retain top talent.

Key Focus Areas

  • Administer 401(k) and pension plans by managing vendors, coordinating with ERISA counsel, funding the plans, providing audit support, preparing participant communications, providing reporting, and coordinating Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDRO’s).
  • Support the Retirement Administrative and Fiduciary Committee by scheduling regular meetings, coordinating with external vendors and advisors, recording minutes, and supporting special projects.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the benefits strategy through data-driven analysis, program design, and implementation.
  • Manage the administration of the retirement plans, and other employee benefits programs ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of retirement and benefits related data in Workday and other systems through regular audits and data coordination.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and legal advisors to ensure benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective.
  • Maintain accurate data and oversee the preparation of reports and analytics for management and regulatory purposes including 401(k) testing.
  • Participate in the development of communications and education including collaborating with the broader team on refreshing the handbook to ensure our pages are user-friendly, concise, and informative.
  • Provide administrative support including facilitating benefits renewals, managing vendor procurement, and reviewing benefits invoices for accuracy.
  • Coordinate the collection and submission of materials required for audit controls.
  • Assist with ad hoc data requests and special projects.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of retirement or benefits experience.
  • 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of regulations such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resource or Business.
  • 6 years of human resource experience.
  • 6 years of retirement or benefits experience.
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
