Type: Full Time Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado. We're eager to get acquainted.Position Description:Join our e-commerce team as the Marketplace Due Diligence Research Analyst, where your role will be crucial in driving our platform's expansion and success. In this position, you will undertake detailed research and analysis of the operational, financial, and strategic aspects of potential marketplace partners. You will evaluate the operations, leadership dynamics, financial health, and investor networks of businesses through comprehensive analysis, ensuring that potential partners contribute positively to our platform's expansion.Your responsibilities will encompass various critical activities, including accessing public company filings for financial stability assessments and verifying business eligibility and ethical standards. Additionally, you will analyze potential partners against government-provided lists to ensure compliance with international standards. Your analytical expertise and strategic foresight will be vital in identifying and mitigating risks, thereby securing the platform's reputation and operational success.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-depth research on potential e-commerce marketplace partners to evaluate their organizational structures, leadership teams, and investors.
  • Assess the backgrounds and track records of executive teams from potential partner organizations to ensure alignment with our ethical and operational standards.
  • Identify potential financial, reputational, and operational risks associated with new partnerships, including compliance with export controls and ITAR regulations.
  • Manage and maintain a comprehensive library of research data and continually update our due diligence processes to incorporate the latest legal and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual reviews and assessments of e-commerce marketplace consumers and vendors to maintain high standards of partnership and compliance.
  • Keep up-to-date of new laws and regulations that may affect the due diligence process, particularly those related to export controls and international trade compliance.
  • Possess a deep understanding of internet research methods, effectively leveraging search engines, specialized databases, and digital libraries to gather actionable intelligence.
  • Skilled in navigating data repositories, precisely vetting documents, financial statements, and compliance records to spot discrepancies or red flags.
  • Responsible for document preparation with strong attention to formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Conduct investigation and research online, retrieving and compiling information in an organized manner, while adhering to information management system policies.
  • Manage and maintain electronic document organization, ensuring efficient information flow and accessibility within the team.
  • Capable of seeing beyond immediate data to understand broader trends and how potential partners align with the strategic objectives of the e-commerce platform.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting complex information in a clear and understandable manner and collaborating across different teams to ensure a cohesive due diligence process.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new developments and practices in the industry, with a strong desire to understand and implement best practices in export compliance and ITAR-related due diligence.
Additional Skills and Experience:
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro, essential for data management and clear communication of findings.
  • Knowledgeable in using JIRA for task tracking, collaboration, and maintaining organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead and manage due diligence projects from start to finish, ensuring projects stay on track with deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Experience with Directorate of Defense Trade Control's (DDTC) Defense Export Control and Compliance System (DECCS) such as: licensed for Permanent and Temporary Export and Import of Unclassified Defense Articles and Related Technical Data, Technical Assistance Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements.
  • Knowledgeable with U.S. Department of Commerce EAR regulations and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classifications and licensing.
Required Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree with five additional years of relevant experience in a role requiring similar skills and responsibilities.
Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.
