Description
Assist in preparing and serving food to residents, employees and visitors. Washes dishes and cleans in assigned areas
| · Assists in preparing food |
| · Prepares residents’ food according to their specific nutritional needs as specified on their diet cards |
| · Remains alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concerns |
| · Prepares food trays and beverages |
| · Uses all kitchen equipment appropriately |
| · Prepares food serving areas for use and serves and delivers food |
| · Sets up dining room tables with appropriate dishes and silverware |
| · Prepares food serving areas, including steam table and salad bar |
| · Serves residents in the dining area and delivers meals an beverages to healthcare residents |
| · Monitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cards |
| · Follows HACCP standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing food |
| · Ensures food is served and stored at correct temperatures |
| · Uses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budget |
| · Understand and follows food portion controls |
| · Avoids wasting food or supplies |
| · Cleans in assigned areas |
| · Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas |
| · Assists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishes |
| · Takes out trash |
| · Sweeps, mops, or vacuums kitchen and dining room floors |
| · Clears and wipes down tables in the dining room |
| · Uses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standards |
Qualifications
| · Must be 16 years old |
| · Must be able to spend most of the day walking, standing, stooping or bending and be able to lift 50 pounds |
| · Work every other weekend |
| · Past experience in food service is preferred |
