Description

SUMMARY :

The Kitchen Utility worker is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness standards through the operation of dishwashing equipment and sinks, removing garbage, cleaning of equipment and work areas, including the sweeping and mopping of floors.

The Kitchen Utility worker will also assist in general food preparation for events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for operating the dishwashing machine, ensuring water temperature is correct and soap and drying agents are connected and working properly.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing their areas to create a safe and sanitary environment for internal and external guests.
  • Maintain organization of dishware, smallwares, pots and pans in storage room.
  • Responsible for thorough cleaning of the food preparation areas in the kitchen including walls, floors and other areas as necessary.
  • Responsible for removing garbage and recyclables from the kitchen and depositing them in the appropriate garbage and recycling area.
  • Responsible for cleaning the kitchen equipment and ensuring items disassembled for cleaning are properly reassembled and operational.
  • Assist with basic food preparation and buffet set-up, as needed.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Stock serving stations with food and utensils.
  • Load or unload trucks used in delivering or picking up food and supplies.
  • Wash and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Handle china, glassware and silverware inventories with care.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Abide by all Arizona State Liquor Laws Title 4, and Colorado River Indian Tribes Alcohol Beverage Ordinance.
  • Abide by Guest Service Agreement for BlueWater Resort & Casino.
  • Abide by F & B department policies and procedures.
  • Performs all functions in accordance with Tribal, Federal, State Health & Safety Regulations, Gaming Regulations, and BlueWater Resort & Casino policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned (job description permitting), or as approved by the Tribal Gaming Agency.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Must have the ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required), depending upon event and business requirements.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Community Environmental Health Food Handlers Card and any other required compliance trainings.
  • All employees must obtain a valid gaming license from the CRIT Tribal Gaming Agency prior to beginning work and are required to have license renewed annually.
  • Must be able to adhere to all BlueWater Resort & Casino and CDC guidelines in regards to the wearing of PPE (including but not limited to a mask and gloves).
  • Must attend in-house comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting training on COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Indoor environment. This position regularly works indoors but may work outdoors in cold and / or extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times.

Will have contact with employees, external agencies and the public. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne practices, including second-hand environmental smoke.

The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members.

The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate. Flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.
