Job Description: RN Critical Care - Travel Position

Location: Utica, NY

Pay Package:

$50/hr on W2 $1162(Weekly non taxable stipend)

Weekly Gross: $2962

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position: Float Pool - Critical Care

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Critical Care Float Pool team on a 13-week travel contract in Utica, NY. This position requires immediate availability and offers the opportunity to work in various units within the hospital, excluding Psychiatry and Emergency Department (unless managing holds). The RN will provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population and must be flexible to float to Medical-Surgical units, potentially handling an assignment with 6-7 patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients across various units.
  • Float to different units within the hospital as needed, except for Psychiatry and Emergency Department (unless managing holds).
  • Manage patient assignments on Medical-Surgical units, which may include caring for 6-7 patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other necessary interventions according to the prescribed care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress, identify changes in condition, and take appropriate action.
  • Document patient care and update records accurately using the Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding their conditions and care.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
  • Current NY RN license in hand.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Proficiency in using Epic EMR.
  • Ability to float to various units and adapt to different patient care settings.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work 36 hours per week with overtime paid after 48 hours.

Work Conditions:

  • 75-mile radius rule applies.
  • Must be willing to work in a floating capacity within the hospital.
  • Diverse patient population requiring flexibility and adaptability.
