ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

Location: Globe, AZ
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts

Job Summary:

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role includes assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. The nurse will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and adjust care plans as needed based on patient condition.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any changes in patient condition.
• Family Communication: Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and care expectations.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, provide immediate medical attention, and follow emergency protocols.
• Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Arizona or compact state licensure.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a high-stress environment, excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $62.00 - $66.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
