Position: Certified Nursing Assistant Department: M5W Schedule: 24 Hours (Evenings/Every Other Weekend) ABOUT THE Critical Care/ 5W IMCU DEPARTMENT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER: BMC's Medical Step Down unit is a 27-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical patients. Patients on this unit are complex cardiology patients, pericardial drains patients, TAVR patients, ventilated patients and patients transferred out of the MICU with complex medical issues. POSITION SUMMARY: As a CNA in our Critical Care department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our CNAs provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the Critical Care department and their families. Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support. Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the Critical Care dept. Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care dept, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
