Electrical Project Manager

BML Services is currently looking for a highly motivated, self-reliant, customer oriented and experienced Electrical Project Manager to help lead some of our larger projects on Hill Air Force Base and beyond. These projects may require overtime work to be performed on an elevated schedule to help meet changing Government deadlines. Being able to pass a background check is critical for this position, as it will be required in order to receive access to Hill AFB and other federal or state projects, as well as having a valid and current Journeyman or Master Electrical License.

This position's starting wage is $48.00 per hour and is negotiable through demonstration and verification of the individual's knowledge, experience, work ethic, etc. We are currently offering a sign-on bonus of $2000.00, so don't miss out! Personal vehicle allowance pay or work vehicle and fuel card will be provided.

About Us:

Our company has been servicing the Wasatch Front for over 20 years, allowing us unique and continuing opportunities for local work right here in Utah from both the federal and state governments, as well as other well-known contractors.

Responsibilities:

The right candidate will need to be experienced and comfortable working in a Commercial & Industrial Electrical environment with the installation of utility transformers, parallel service conductors, switchgear, MDP's, electric buss ducts, etc. They will also need to be capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously, communicating directly and effectively with customers vendors and BML staff in order to accomplish project goals, recognize/execute critical paths, prioritize safety, and maintain a good working relationship with all parties involved. Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams and equipment installation instructions.
  • Planning, designing and performing the installation of complete electrical systems within project parameters and in compliance with the National Electric Code.
  • Providing on-site direction, supervision and leadership for personnel in order to complete jobs within specific guidelines that include quality standards, time requirements, and budget considerations.
  • Material purchasing and management.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Communicate and work closely with customers, vendors and electricians
  • Create and maintain fluid and effective project schedules
  • Proactively handle project issues and/or risks
  • Forecast deficiencies and unrealistic expectations while identifying solutions
  • Regularly inspect work in progress to ensure conformity to specifications and schedules
  • Preparation and review of project submittals and shop drawings for compliance with specifications
  • Subcontractor/vendor submittal management
  • Manage close-out process; gather all documents, submit per customer requirements

Qualifications:

  • Skill in planning, organizing, and executing electrical projects mandated by changing codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze electrical problems, devise, and carry out effective plans for the installation and remodel of electrical systems.
  • Ability to perform assigned work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical plans, circuit schematics and blueprints.
  • As a good portion of our work is with the state or federal government, individuals need to be able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to read/interpret/understand construction documents, plans and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam & Procore
  • Ability to learn and adapt to each customer's submittal/close-out process
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills
