Structural & Mechanical Engineering Specialist: What you Bring:
Leads project evaluations by identifying/capturing gaps, dependencies, resources, risk, and financial impacts.
Coordinates, procures and implements the installation of secondary media as a link between the building and the equipment and provides technical support for new equipment installation.
Supports contractor activities in engineering, installing, commissioning, documentation, and sign-off of new equipment & structure projects.
Conducts cost estimate (invest, budget), technical specification and request for quotes. Maintains project cost targets and budget forecasts.
Participates in cross-functional project teams supporting activities related to the construction of the battery plant.
Provides sustainable, innovative, and operationally optimal building concepts.
Review and consolidation of building requirements.
Implementation and development of BMW building standards.
Ensures fire protection, occupational safety and other legal requirements are met.
Obtains and shares best practice solutions within the BMW Group network.
Collaborates with reference planning for continuous improvement relating to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) topics.
Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Structural & Mechanical Engineering Specialist Requirements and Qualifications:
BA/BS degree in Engineering (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering preferred) OR AA/AS degree in technical field and 2 years of professional mechanical experience (automotive industry). OR The equivalent of 4 years of professional mechanical experience in the automotive industry.
5 years of structure project implementation, project steering/leadership & support experience.
5 years of experience in an engineering environment (automotive process or automotive).
5 years of experience of managing projects including experience with structural modification.
3 years of building technology or interior design of buildings.
5 years evaluation, organization, multi-tasking, and presentation skills.
5 years verbal and written communication skills.
5 years computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Out task, etc.).
5 years German language (preferred).
5 years ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
5 years knowledge of organizational processes (budgeting, resource management).
