• Provides technical and specialist guidance for the Plant processes and quality through the destruct process, testing of materials and corrosion related issues.
• Provides technical or specialized guidance to internal and external customers for destruct, testing, and corrosion processes.
• Steers vehicle destruct evaluation for Body in White adhesive applications. Manages environmental testing and data evaluation compared to BMW specifications.
• Evaluates supplier coated parts. Oversees testing for Body, Paint and Assembly Shop sealer and adhesive testing.
• Leads Certificate of Analysis reviewing, approval and posting for Materials group.
• Provides guidance for environmental testing of adhesive labels used in Assembly.
• Collaborates with process partners on Plant-wide processes for PMP (Problem-Management Process), 8D, and CST (Cross-System Teams) related to interior parts, e-coat, primers, basecoat or clearcoats.
• Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
• Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a technical field; OR AA/AS degree in a technical field and 2 years of professional experience in sealer and adhesive materials testing; OR The equivalent of 4 years of professional experience in sealer and adhesive materials testing.
• 5 years of professional experience with automotive adhesive and sealer materials.
• 3 years professional project leadership experience.
• 1 years of experience developing and documenting process flows and procedures.
• 5 years of MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
• 5 years of professional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
• 1 years of knowledge of paint applications testing, FTIR, and GC-MS testing (preferred).
