Business Overview:The Investment Grade Bond Syndicate team is part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking division of BNP Paribas, and has responsibility for all IG bond executions, with a focus on active bookrunner roles. The US IG Primary franchise is currently #10 in Bloomberg League Tables. The group works closely with both the origination and sales teams to ensure the marketability and best execution of strategically important transactions. The IG Bond Syndicate team in New York has 10 dedicated professionals executing transactions across 4 main verticals: Corporates, Financials, Emerging Markets and Private Placements.
The US Private Placement (“USPP”) market is a subset of the global debt capital markets, consisting of a mature pool of long-dated, fixed-income capital, which attracts issuers from around the globe across a wide range of sectors. It has very specific documentation and diligence requirements given the illiquid, “buy-and-hold” nature of the securities. Deal flow comes from corporates, infrastructure, real estate, aviation and financials from issuers across the globe
The Loan Syndicate team is part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking division of BNP Paribas and has responsibility for all loan underwriting decisions, with a focus on lead-arranged, active bookrunner roles. The team has executed as left-lead bookrunner deals amounting from sub $100 million to multi-billion dollar benchmark issuances for domestic and international issuers. The Loan Syndicate team in New York has 12 dedicated professionals syndicating and distributing a diverse mix of institutional and bank loans, across 4 main verticals: Investment Grade (“IG”) loans, Asset Finance & Securitization, Leveraged Finance and Latam.
The team works seamlessly with global credit, origination, distribution and industry teams to leverage the global client franchise of the bank & ensure optimal execution.
Members of the team maintain an active dialogue with the market and are tasked with providing market updates to both internal and external clients. Loan structure and pricing guidance is regularly supported by an analysis of comparable financings (comps) and market sounding.
The Syndicate team also supports the risk management decision process by developing a syndication strategy, which is presented in memo form as a part of the credit approval process.
