We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director to join our Credit Management team. This role is located in New York, NY (hybrid with three days a week expected in-office). 

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

• Analyze complex entities and structures to evaluate the business justification for Institutional Bank credit requests and support the Bank’s overall credit strategy around asset generation and balance sheet optimization.
• Advise business partners on regulatory capital and liquidity implications related to committed and uncommitted exposure.
• Lead strategic initiatives for Credit Management and Credit Services that contribute to the achievement of BNY Mellon’s investment performance goals and related team objectives. 
• Drive business review process for credit transactions by: (i) reviewing transaction term sheets, client revenue trends, and opportunities to grow the business relationship; (ii) calculating returns on capital required for the exposure; (iii) evaluating exposure and revenue relative to other lenders; and, (iv) working with business partners to crystallize the business justification for any credit ask.
• Take an active role in business transformation efforts outlined by our Executive Committee.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

• Established experience and/or accreditation in credit, banking or financial and risk analysis.
• Minimum of 12 years of total work experience preferred. 
• Bachelor's degree, related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA or equivalent educational/professional experience preferred.
• While the role has no direct reports, candidate is expected to provide guidance to junior stakeholders in both formal and informal capacities.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
