Responsibilities:
- Establish partnerships with source system data owners to understand and document requirements related to data use, including scope, limitations, attribute definitions, and linkages to other datasets.
- Utilize strong data management and metadata analysis skills.
- Analyze, query, and manipulate data according to defined business rules and procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis for data errors; research the scope and complexity of issues, interpret findings, and identify steps for remediation.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and other leaders.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of own work, including thorough research and accurate responses to queries before submission to relevant parties.
- Work in a stringent deadline-driven environment, managing pressure and changing work conditions while handling all inquiries professionally and timely.
- Implement and measure data quality and controls, understanding the importance and impact of data quality issues.
- Determine business impact levels for data quality issues and ensure adherence to data quality standards.
- Identify root causes for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand compliance policies, processing tasks in accordance with procedures.
- Excellent organization, documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred, but open to applications from other fields with extensive training provided.
- Preferred experience in banking, product/financial services, and/or auditing or compliance.
- Knowledge of structuring data environments and applications that use big data processes is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with issue management systems.
- Familiarity with logical data models.
