We are seeking an associate level Scrum Master to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA for a 8-month contract to hire opportunity! If you have 2 years of experience acting as a Scrum Master for a software development team in an agile environment, please apply today! Responsibilities:
Guiding the team and organization in the application of Agile/Scrum practices and values to enhance customer satisfaction
Helping the team self-organize to address the gaps intentionally left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks
Assessing and improving the Scrum maturity of the team and organization at a sustainable and comfortable pace
Removing impediments or guiding the team to find the right personnel to remove them
Creating a trusting and safe environment where issues can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, with a focus on healing and problem-solving
Facilitating task completion without coercion, assignment, or dictation
Facilitating discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution
Assisting with internal and external communication to improve transparency and information sharing
Supporting and educating the Product Owner, particularly in grooming and maintaining the product backlog
Providing support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team, diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
Proficient in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Knowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for addressing intentional gaps in the Scrum framework (e.g., Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats, bug handling)
Familiarity with other Agile methodologies, such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, and FDD
Experience with widely successful Agile techniques, including User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
Previous managerial experience with excellent communication and mentoring skills
