JANITORIAL WORKER

Under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, we are looking for a janitorial team member who performs those cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications.
This role is part of a federal AbilityOne contract, which mandates that most of the work hours must be carried out by individuals with disabilities. Due to program requirements, this particular position must be filled by a person with a disability.
This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant must be able to stand a majority of the work time, walk a significant portion, and sit. He/She must be able to lift/carry 35 pounds and push/pull 35 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and handle. All of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and corners. Must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers. Reasonable accommodations for physical requirements will be considered.
OVERALL QUALIFICATIONS
Must have three (3) to six (6) months training or experience working as a janitor preferred,or be capable of learning to perform the essential functions. Must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts. The ideal candidate should hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity.
