Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is Hiring a MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE Near Miami, FL

As Bodega Taqueria y Tequila continues to expand its national footprint, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Associate to join our dynamic team in the South Florida Region of our group. Our unique brand offers traditional Mexican favorites with unconventional and innovative interpretations, specializing in tacos and tequila. Behind the meat locker door, a no-name speakeasy comes alive at night, serving up Miami's best tequila and cocktails in an eclectic, puebla-inspired setting that brings together artists, musicians, locals, and travelers alike.
As a Facilities Associate at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our establishments. You will be responsible for a variety of manual labor projects including carpentry, painting, HVAC repair, preventative maintenance, and other tasks as assigned. Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment will contribute to the overall success of our restaurants.
Responsibilities
  • Carpentry: Perform routine carpentry tasks such as repairing furniture, installing shelves, and constructing fixtures as needed to maintain the integrity of the restaurant space.
  • Painting: Execute painting projects including touch-ups, wall repairs, and full-scale painting jobs to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the restaurant interiors and exteriors.
  • HVAC Repair: Conduct regular inspections of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC issues to ensure optimal performance and comfort for staff and guests.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs for various equipment and facilities to minimize downtime and extend their lifespan. This includes conducting regular inspections, lubricating machinery, and replacing worn-out parts.
  • General Maintenance: Perform a wide range of manual labor tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, and equipment maintenance to address any issues that may arise in the restaurant environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while carrying out maintenance activities. Identify and address potential safety hazards to create a secure working environment for employees and guests.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts replaced, and maintenance schedules. Provide regular updates to management regarding the status of ongoing projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team, as well as restaurant managers and staff, to coordinate maintenance efforts and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including after-hours emergencies, to address urgent issues and minimize disruptions to restaurant operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, carpentry, painting, or preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and basic electrical and plumbing principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Prior experience working in a food and beverage or hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a commercial setting.
