Bolton & Menk is Hiring a Community Outreach Liaison Near Grand Forks, ND
In this role you will identify, build, and sustain partnerships with community-based organizations and other city organizations to help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in public infrastructure projects. You will also assist with public engagement in support of projects as well as assistance with related community planning work. This position will also be responsible for research and the development of best practices for our growing practice throughout North Dakota and Minnesota.
What You Will Do
- Identify, build, and sustain community partnerships with community-based organizations, other city organizations and individuals.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for company brand awareness through community initiatives.
- Support and lead innovative and equitable engagement efforts.
- Represent company DEI initiatives at key events and conferences
- Respond to inquiries from community members and other interested parties; when needed, recruit a knowledgeable spokesperson or information source to assist with outreach efforts.
- Build partner networks and client outreach.
- Attend evening and weekend community meetings and events across communities.
- Maintain regular contact with community leaders, including resident association presidents.
- Support community planning projects and tasks through engagement efforts, including collecting and analyzing data, informing studies and reports, and facilitating coordination between project stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in planning, Communication, Public Relations, Community Organizing, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- At least two (2) years of work in public relations or at least five (5) years of work in a related field preferred.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness and professionalism.
- Possess a valid driver’s license as travel to various facilities and job sites will be required.
