The position is located at the Southside School of Nursing in Colonial Heights, VA

POSITION SUMMARY The primary function and general purpose of the nursing faculty position is teaching with various levels of service, practice and professional development, and scholarship that are commensurate with faculty rank.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. To teach nursing courses a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing is required. To teach non-nursing courses a master’s or doctoral degree in the appropriate related field is required. *A doctoral degree is required for the ranks of academic associate professor, academic professor, and clinical professor.

2. Two years of clinical experience in the field required.

3. Two years of teaching experience preferred

4. Current license to practice as a registered nurse or in appropriate field in the Commonwealth of VA, as applicable.

5. Proficiency in basic computer skills to include Word, instructional technology, and clinical practice is required.

6. Certification in area of clinical expertise or as nurse educator preferred.

7. Experience with Behavioral Health or Social Work required
