ROLE SUMMARY:

The Assistant Logistics Manager is pivotal in overseeing material handlers and ensuring seamless operations within our warehouse facilities. They'll collaborate closely with the Materials Manager and logistics team to optimize processes and maintain efficient inventory management practices.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT LOGISTICS MANAGER CAN LOOK LIKE:

• Team Leadership: Providing guidance, support, and direction to logistics material handlers to ensure tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
• Radio Communication: Responding promptly to radio calls and coordinating appropriate actions to address operational needs.
• Scheduling Oversight: Managing scheduling and monitoring timecard activity for material handlers to ensure proper staffing levels and adherence to company policies.
• Picklist Management: Generating and updating picklists to facilitate accurate order fulfillment and inventory replenishment.
• Shipping and Receiving: Overseeing the receipt and shipment of both Open Stock and Finished Goods to maintain inventory accuracy and meet customer demands.
• Month-End Support: Assisting the Logistics Manager with month-end closing activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Documentation Handling: Organizing and filing shipping/receiving documentation in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Inventory Audits: Supporting the inventory team during fiscal year-end physical counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
• Compliance Adherence: Following all SQF procedures and policies while operating within SQF-compliant facilities, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• FIFO Tracking: Implementing and monitoring First in First out (FIFO) inventory management practices for both Open Stock and Finished Goods.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Working collaboratively with the Logistics Manager and other team members to address challenges and implement process improvements.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• College degree preferred. 
• 5 or more years of logistics experience within a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Proficiency in inventory systems; experience in Nulogy and SAP preferred.
• Understanding of MRP functionality preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage stressful circumstances.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions.

LOCATION: St. Peters, Missouri
SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 3:30pm; Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
PAY: $22 - $23 per hour
